Pacific Wanders

A bunch of Japanese fishing glass ball moon bathe on a peaceful, deserted, Hana, Maui beach. Chillaxing after escaping the fishing nets that held them, they wait for the tide to come in an take them somewhere else. Some balls have all the luck, unless some lucky crazy person finds them and takes them home...That'd be me.

This photo was taken late on a moonlit night at Koki Beach just outside of Hana, Maui in 1981 using a organic time lapse technique that I developed. It is not a double exposure or photo manipulation and uses only moonlight as a light source. The image is copy of a high res scan of the original 6x7cm medium format transparency.
